Ethics - Civility: Honor Amongst Adversaries?

Public and judicial confidence in lawyers and the legal process is being shaken as never before. As a result of "lawyers behaving badly," there are new State Bar rules being imposed on lawyers and proposals for even more administrative and judicial intervention. We'll review specific state mandates, legislation and case law requiring civility within the legal profession and discuss real-life examples of successful (and unsuccessful) cooperation among lawyers, claims professionals, judges, experts, and society. Our panel will bring their varied perspectives to provide recommendations for best practices for lawyers - and all of us who work within and rely on the legal system - to restore public and judicial confidence in lawyers and the legal profession.
