Session Descriptions

3:15pm – 4:15pm Breakout Session 5

Closing the Coverage Gap in Design-Build: When GL and PL Don't Meet
Design-build projects routinely expose voids where GL and PL exclusions lead to coverage gaps and
disputes. This session explores practical solutions, including Construction E&O alternatives, to
resolve coverage disputes and provide more comprehensive protection for all parties involved.

Presenters:

  • Jarad Beckman, Equity Partner – Wolfe & Wyman LLP
  • Jason Maxfield, Senior Claims Superintendent – Admiral Insurance Group

Cyber Attacks and the Act of War Exclusion: Where Coverage Ends
State-sponsored cyberattacks are testing the limits of insurance coverage. Using recent incidents
such as the March 2026 attack on medical technology company Stryker, this session examines how
Act of War exclusions apply to nation-state cyber operations, where current policy language leaves
carriers and insureds exposed, and what claims professionals need to watch.

Presenters:

  • Marc Tolliver, Partner – Touchstone, Bernays, Johnston
  • Thomas Wright, Partner – Anderson Crawley & Burke

ACH, UCC Article 4A, Wire Fraud, and the FBI's Financial Fraud Kill Chain
When a spearphishing attack diverts hundreds of thousands in payments, recovery options are
narrow and time sensitive. Using a real federal case, this session explains why banks face no liability
under UCC 4A and how the FBI Kill Chain offers a last recovery option.

Presenters:

  • Eileen Buholtz, Partner – Connors, Corcoran & Buholtz
  • Cathy Glassman, Bank Operations Expert Witness and Consultant
  • Yanai Siegel, Corporate Counsel – Appliance Dealers Cooperative
