What's New/What's Next in ADAS - Implications for Accident Investigation and Reconstruction

SAE J3016 lays the groundwork for automated vehicle behavior design, but the trajectory and future of automated vehicles may partially depend on case outcomes. As public opinion, case outcomes, and scientific studies interact, it is important to understand topics such as perception reaction time, warnings and labels, and the fundamentals of technology. We'll review the state of the art in automated vehicle standards, research, and technology. We'll also review how these advancements play a crucial role in accident investigation and reconstruction. You'll learn to identify the steps necessary to investigate an accident involving vehicles equipped with ADAS technology and how advanced vehicle data and system-specific testing can be incorporated into the analysis of a collision.
The utility of new electronic vehicle data in the evaluation of suspected fraud will also be highlighted.
